Kendra is a passionate electrical apprentice with a deep love for skilled trades, as well as a regional trades representative for BCCWITT. 

Beyond her own growth, Kendra is committed to inspiring others, to explore careers in skilled trades. Tools To Empower was created to help mentor and design in programs aiming to break down barriers and foster a more inclusive industry. Kendra's vision is to excel as an electrician while paving the way for the next generation of tradespeople.

Natasha is a co-founder and the Chief Development Officer at Tools to Empower, where she oversee fundraising and development activities. She also a steamfitter with UA Local 170, currently working at Seaspan Shipyard.

We started Tools to Empower to introduce people to the world of trades and STEM—showing them various career options and basic tool knowledge. What began as that has evolved into something she is truly passionate about: building safe, sustainable communities to improve people’s quality of life. We achieve this through projects like our community cupboard and our monthly meet-ups.

  Alycia Twigg is a dynamic entrepreneur, skilled project manager, and committed business owner. Twigg Transformations, a progressive construction management firm that champions modern practices, Alycia brings nearly two decades of industry expertise to her role. Her dedication to "doing construction differently" has set new standards with her collaborators across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. With a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Management and an anticipated PMP designation, Alycia excels in overseeing complex projects. Her innovative work and commitment to community support earned her the Jobber Grant "Community Caretaker" award, recognizing her contributions to her local communities. This expertise extends to her role at Tools to Empower, where her supportive approach to advancing inclusivity and diversity promotes equitable opportunities in Skilled Trades and STEM fields, reflecting her broader professional ethos and leadership. 

Meghan McEwen holds the role of Environment and Sustainability Director for Tools to Empower. With an extensive background in trades and automotive, she brings a wealth of experience to her role, where I focus on advancing sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship. Her career in the trades has given her a deep appreciation for practical skills and their impact on the community. She is passionate about mentoring and volunteering, finding great fulfillment in guiding others and contributing to meaningful projects. It is both an honor and a privilege to support Tools to Empower, where she is committed to fostering a sustainable future and empowering individuals through education and community engagement.

 Emilie Biela was raised on an off grid acreage, Emilie has been involved in a variety of construction projects from a young age. At the age of 14 she helped with the construction of a timber frame addition to her family’s home! A RSE Carpenter, Emilie is now working towards becoming a certified instructor and is a passionate advocate for trades careers and building community.
She has completed leadership training through the BC Centre for Women in the Trades, and the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum, and helps in organizing try-a-trade events for youth so that they have the opportunity to learn some hands on skills in a fun way. She is excited to continue this work as the Youth Director here at Tools To Empower! 

Jessica Andersen has 13 years of experience as a veterinary technician, she now holds the position of Director of Animal Welfare at Tools to Empower. Her passion lies in merging STEM and trades to create impactful community programs. She is particularly enthusiastic about our upcoming workshops on bees and sustainability. These sessions aim to educate participants about the critical role of bees in our ecosystems and explore sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local communities.

As a Business Representative at IUOE Local 115 and a Director at Large on the board of Tools to Empower, he am enthusiastic about the opportunity to support and advance the mission of Tools to Empower (TTE). He was introduced to TTE at the Prince George Trades Expo highlighted the organization’s impactful outreach and innovative programs, which he is eager to help further.

In his roles, he aims to leverage his experience and network to bolster TTE’s initiatives and contribute to their ongoing success. He is particularly excited about collaborating on strategies that enhance community engagement and expand program reach, aligning with TTE’s vision of empowerment and support.
